Cabinet of Curiosities, also known as Cabinets of Wonder, was the aristocrat’s solution for entertainment after dinner or parties and was described as a collection of notable objects. These collections ranged from small drawers to entire rooms that included carefully curated objects such as those belonging to natural history, geology, ethnography, archaeology, religious or historical relics, works of art (including cabinet paintings), and antiquities. Imagine this body of work, filled with poisonous plants and natural macabre found in Southern Appalachia, on display for scientific study.
