Collection: 2025 - Red List - Olive Stack Gallery, Listowel, Ireland

Red List (2025) is a body of work focused on endangered species native to Ireland, responding to the accelerating loss of biodiversity across the island. Drawing from Ireland’s Red Lists of threatened species, the project highlights animals and plants at risk of disappearing from familiar landscapes, bogs, coasts, rivers, and farmland, often unnoticed.

The works are both acts of documentation and gestures of care. Rather than presenting scientific records, Red List seeks to slow the act of looking, inviting closer attention to species that exist at the edge of visibility and survival. Each piece reflects on absence, fragility, and the shared responsibility between human activity and ecological decline.

Rooted in place, the series considers Ireland’s natural heritage as something living, vulnerable, and continually shaped by climate change, habitat loss, and land use. Red List asks what it means to witness these species now, while they are still here, and how attention itself might become a form of preservation.
